Diane Kruger feels French because although she's originally from Germany, she spent her teenage years there so has a close relationship with the country.
Diane Kruger feels French.
The German actress - who is in a relationship with Canadian actor Joshua Jackson - moved to Paris to pursue a modelling career in her early 20s and now divides her time between the European city and New York but feels most ''at home'' in France.
She said: ''I've always loved travelling and experiencing different cultures.
''I feel probably more French than German or American, even though I've been living half the time in the US over the past 18 years or so.
''I've felt at home in Paris since I was a teenager, starting out as a model.''
The 'Disorder' actress and her partner are also planning to spend part of their time in Italy.
She added: ''Joshua and I have been talking about buying a house in Tuscany. That's a big dream and one day we're going to make it happen.''
Though they are very happy together, the 39-year-old star - who was previously married to Guillaume Canet - and the former 'Dawson's Creek' star have no plans to tie the knot.
She told HELLO! magazine: ''I've already been married and I don't need to do that again.
''Being married doesn't change how you feel about another person.
''If you want to be with someone, then you're going to respect that bond whether you've signed a document or not.''
