"It is very amicable" an insider told E! News. "It's not ugly, it's just over."

It marks the second divorce for both Hollywood stars, with Lane previously married to the actor Christopher Lamber and Brolin having wed actress Alice Adair. The two have no children together, though Lane has a daughter Eleanor and Brolin has two children, Trevor and Eden.

At this moment, Lane is preparing to shoot the sequel to Man of Steel - which will see Henry Cavill's Superman go head-to-head with Batman, played by Ben Affleck.

Brolin is currently having a rough time of it, having checked into a rehabilitation facility earlier this month. After a couple of fights in Los Angeles, the acclaimed actor checked into a rehab facility in North California, with a source telling Us Weekly that he realized he needed help with alcohol and is committed to his sobriety.

As we reported yesterday, Brolin's new movie Oldboy - a remake of the classic 2003 movie- bombed at the box-office taking less than $1 million despite a budget of $30 million. However, this is less to do with Brolin's performance - which is actually pretty good - and more to do with Spike Lee's dumbass decision to remake Oldboy.

Brolin recently finished work on Paul Thomas Anderson's highly anticipated crime-drama Inherent Vice, about a drug-fuelled detective who investigates the disappearance of a former girlfriend.
