Disney Pixar Vs. Dreamworks: The Best Animation Soundtracks

Disney

It's often said that a good soundtrack makes the movie, and in the case of animated features that's often true. Hans Zimmer and Randy Newman are staples of the Dreamworks and Pixar music world respectively for their influential film scores - but that doesn't mean to say they are also better than soundtrack song selections.

10 Most Loveable Disney Sidekicks: Olaf, Sebastian And More

Disney

Disney and Pixar have had some of the most inventive and adorable characters ever seen in film, and it's difficult to choose the most memorable. It's the kooky little sidekicks and protective companions that make the films so popular, and in some cases are the reason for their continued success.

Here are ten of our favourite Disney side characters:

1. Olaf ('Frozen') - Now the name of every child's snowman, this quirky little fella came to life with Elsa's power and his optimism is infectious. He loves the idea of summer and warmth, and even risked melting just to protect Anna because 'Some people are worth melting for'.

Hank The Octopus, Becky The Loon, The Otters: Meet The Cast Of Finding Dory!

Disney Ellen Degeneres Idris Elba

'Finding Dory' is definitely on the way now, and with it a whole host of lovable new characters. It takes place just a year after the events of 'Finding Nemo', even if it's taken more than ten years for this sequel to finally arrive. We're sure it'll be worth the wait.

Directed by Andrew Stanton and Angus MacLane, 'Finding Dory' is set to arrive on June 17th 2016. While it was disappointing to learn that we won't be hearing Michael Sheen's voice in the movie after all since he was edited out of the final cut, the new characters that did make it are still inescapably awesome.

Disney Sam Raimi Quentin Tarantino Martin Scorsese George Lucas

Everyone likes a good Easter Egg hunt this time of year, but one of our favourites involves searching them out in iconic films. Of course, these 'Easter eggs' aren't of the chocolate variety, merely snippets from films containing amusing inside jokes or tributes to other movies.

In honour of all the scavenger hunts that will be happening amongst children tomorrow as they set about discovering what the Easter bunny has left, we reflect on some more sophisticated kind of 'Easter eggs'; that is, the various hidden meanings in some of our favourite movies.

Disney To Start Building Two 'Star Wars' Themed Attractions In 2016

Star Wars Disney

The Disney corporation will begin construction on two new Star Wars attractions in 2016, according to the company’s Chief Operating Officer Thomas Staggs. Both will be built in Disney’s two existing theme parks in Florida and California.

The areas, which will be themed ‘lands’ at each park, will be 14 acres each, representing the largest single-themed expansions in terms of size in Disney’s history, according to the news that was announced on Thursday (September 10th).

Disney bought out Lucasfilm, which holds the rights to all things Star Wars, for $4.06 billion back in 2012. Staggs, speaking at the Bank of America-Merrill Lynch 2015 Media, Communications and Entertainment Conference in Beverly Hills, remained tight-lipped as to when the attractions would actually be opened, but we already have a rough idea as to what the attractions will include when they do.
