The iconic country singer inked a development deal with bosses at America's NBC network earlier this year (15) to executive produce a number of stand-alone movies based on her life and music, and during the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Thursday (13Aug15), Parton revealed her 1973 song about a woman confronting a lady who she believes is trying to steal her man, will be turned into a film.

China Beach creator and The West Wing writer/producer John Sacret Young has been tapped to write the screenplay for Jolene.

The movie will be the second in Parton's deal - her 1971 autobiographical track Coat of Many Colors has inspired a TV film, which will feature Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles and former child star Ricky Schroder.
