Oliver insisted in an interview on Friday (30Oct15) that he wasn't interested in having the Republican presidential candidate hopeful on his talk show because he doesn't "really care about him in any capacity".

Talking to CBS This Morning, the comedian said Trump has "no internal monologue" and branded the businessman an open book, adding, "That book doesn't have that many interesting words in it."

Trump took to Twitter.com on Saturday (31Oct15) and hit back at Oliver's claims, alleging the comedian had already reached out to request that he appear on the show.

Trump wrote, "John Oliver had his people call to ask me to be on his very boring and low-rated show. I said 'NO THANKS' Waste of time & energy!"

During Trump's campaign for the White House he has feuded with several media figures, including Megyn Kelly and Meghan MCCain, after launching his political bid with a disparaging speech about Mexican immigrants in the U.S.
