A lot of photoshopping went on in Lady Gaga’s new ad campaign for Versace.
Lady GaGa has become the latest celebrity to find themselves in the middle of the ongoing Photoshop debate after un-retouched photos from the pop singer's new Versace campaign leaked online. As the new face of the Italian high fashion brand, Gaga features in numerous photos for the extensive new ad campaign, modelling clothes and accessories.
Un-Edited Photos From Lady Gaga's Versace Ad Campaign Have Surfaced Online.
Gaga doesn't exactly look terrible in the unedited snaps but that very fact alone has cause fans and feminist sites to criticise the heavy Photoshop editing that saw the 'Artpop' singer dramatically changed. The star was digitally given a lot more make up than she appeared to be wearing in the original shots and even had her hair changed from a straw blonde to a more platinum shade.

Amid controversy surrounding her career, M.I.A is promoting a new creative endeavor.
Two completely separate ends of the fashion spectrum merge in rapper M.I.A.’s soon-to-be released collection for Versus Versace. M.I.A collaborated with the streetwear brand on a collection of clothes, inspired by the knockoffs she used to wear on the streets of London. You know, before the record deals, mainstream success and legal battles with the NFL.
M.I.A has evolved her own unique style, largely influenced by the days before she reached mainstream success.
The collection features plenty of bright colors, bold patterns and baggy shapes and the marketing campaign looks to be just as aggressive as we’re used to seeing M.I.A. in her performances – which is just fine. In fact, it’s nice to know that the M.I.A. (real name Mathangi Arulpragasam) hasn’t lost the slightest bit of her edge.
M.I.A. is branching out into fashion designing.
Grammy award-winning rapper M.I.A. has designed a collection for Versus, Versace's lower-priced line. The news was originally reported when the rapper told a WWD reporter at the Balenciaga show in Paris, though the fashion house chose not to make an official announcement, until now.
Unsurprisingly, the collection is based on M.I.A's signature look of brightly patterned trousers, hoodies and loud sunglasses. Versace says the line will include "graphic prints with street energy" and a motif of "gold medallions [that] are reminiscent of the frenzy typical of the (market) stands."
Referring to herself in the third person, the musician said of her line, "The theme of counterfeits, of those that produce and sell them has always been part of the culture of M.I.A. When I was contacted by Versace, it seemed a great idea to invert the circle. Versace's designs have always been copied, now it's Versace that copies the copies, so those that copy must copy the copies. So this will continue."

Raquel Welch has been cast in a Donatella Versace biopic movie. The film, which is due to air in October on Lifetime, stars Gina Gershon as Donatella, Colm Feore and Enrico Colantori.
Raquel Welch will play Donatella Versace's aunt in a Lifetime biopic TV movie of the fashion designer's life. The film, entitled House of Versace will follow the life of Versace as she is forced to deal with the death of her brother Gianni.

The founder of the company, Gianni, was killed in 1997 by spree killer Andrew Cunanan. It is still not known why Gianni Versace was a target of the killer. His niece Allegra, then only eleven, inherited the majority of the company's shares and control. His sister Donatella took over the position as head of design.

The new generation of Hollywood, from Taylor Momsen to Angel Haze, descended on the NY bash.
Versace lovers gathered en masse at Donatella Versace’s showcase at Lexington Avenue Armory Wednesday in New York for the new Versus line. The venue, appropriately dimmed for the edgy collection’s reveal, was filled to the brim with celebrities and assorted socialites, Women’s Wear Daily reports. Darren Criss, Theophilus London, Jaime King, Hayden Panettiere, Sky Ferreira and Heidi Klum were all among the chosen ones, lingering among models and scantily clad waiters and waitresses.
Rocker and former Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen was also present, supporting one of her go-to brands when it comes to clothes. Momsen’s trademark heavy eyeliner and unkempt bleach blond tresses fit right in with the edgy theme of the party. “You can’t go wrong with Versace,” said Momsen for WWD “They always have a bit of a rock ’n’ roll edge.”
That they do and the capsule collection, separated into three groups – all black, colorful knits and all black – didn’t disappoint on that front. The show was punctuated by performances from rapper Angel Haze, followed by L.A. rockers Dead Sara and finally Canadian electropop prodigy Grimes in the breaks between the three sections. Grimes in particular has been a Versace darling lately, so it’s no surprise that she was also featured in the show. As for the clothes, it’s what you might expect from a 2013 summer collection – crop tops abound, along with straps on everything and strategically selected bold accessories. It was a good time for everyone involved, except maybe Lady GaGa, who, after her arrival, spent the night observing from the secluded mezzanine.
"The fashion industry has been behind every major assassination in the last 200 years," says a bearded and scruffy, conspiracy-mad David Duchovny in Ben Stiller's ludicrously amusing "Zoolander" -- and only the world's most vapid male model can break his brainwashing and to put a stop to it all.
No, not Fabio. "Too smart," says the Karl Lagerfeld-like leader of a shadowy international syndicate of couture designers, while picking "a beautiful self-absorbed simpleton who can be molded like Jell-O" to kill the prime minister of Malaysia. I mean, the man plans to end slave wages for sweatshop garment workers in his country. He simply must be stopped!
Enter pouty, super-superficial mannequin man Derek Zoolander (Stiller). Desperate to rescue his career after losing the Male Model of the Year Award (insert oh-so-VH-1 ceremony here) to his up-and-coming rival, the dreaded, sexy surfer stud Hansel (Owen Wilson), Derek is ripe for reprogramming. Hired by the industry's designer de jour -- played by Will Ferrell in a poodle wig, charcoal eyeliner and a leather corset -- Derek is brainwashed to snap at a runway show for a new line of homeless bum-inspired ready-to-wear, called Derelicte (that's derelict with an "e" on the end). Ferrell has invited the Third World leader to sit in the front row.
