A musical based on the life and music of late disco superstar Donna Summer is in the works.
According to a report in the New York Post, Des McAnuff, the award-winning director of Jersey Boys, staged a workshop in the Big Apple last week (ends02Sep16), and Broadway regular Ariana DeBose took on the role of Summer.
DeBose has appeared onstage in Hamilton and Motown.
Reports suggest two other actresses will portray Summer at different stages of her life.
The disco queen, who enjoyed hits like Hot Stuff and I Feel Love, lost her battle with lung cancer in Florida in 2012, aged 63.
