Download Festival has announced a further 22 acts to its line-up; including Cancer Bats, Rise To Remain and Saxon, who will join the headliners The Prodigy, Metallica and Black Sabbath on 8-10 June 2012, which will mark the festival's tenth anniversary.

Corey Taylor, known as the frontman of Slipknot and Stone Sour, is also confirmed to play the festival, in his debut solo acoustic performance. Currently, Taylor is signing copies of his new book, Seven Deadly Sins, in Australia.

For bands Cancer Bats and Saxon, it won't be their first time playing at the acclaimed Download Festival. Cancer Bats will be returning for the third time, while Saxon will make their fifth appearance on stage. For bands such as The Prodigy and the newly reformed Black Sabbath, on the other hand, this will be the only place to see them this year - the festival will mark The Prodigy's only UK date and Black Sabbath's only European tour, due to the illness of guitarist Tony Iommi. Instead, the Black Sabbath reunion tour will now be a string of Ozzy Osbourne concerts, titled Ozzy and Friends.

Elsewhere, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich revealed late last year that the band will be performing their seminal 1991 album, The Black Album, in its entirety, as part of their set.

Download Festival is always held at Donington Park, England and this year is no exception. Tickets are available to purchase from the festival's website.
