Jay Z has ended Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ reign at the top of the Forbes list of hip-hop’s highest earners, mostly thanks to cognac and champagne.

The magazine reported on Thursday (March 1st) that the 48 year old rapper – who welcomed twins roughly a year ago with his wife Beyonce and released his latest album 4:44 - had a net worth of $900 million, increasing his wealth over the last 12 months by an estimated $90 million.

That increase was largely derived from the booming value of his interests in Armand de Brignac champagne and D’Ussé cognac, as well as ownership stakes in record label Roc Nation and his Tidal music streaming service.

Drake says Lebron James is one of his biggest inspirations.

The chart-topping rap star has hailed the NBA star after he passed the 30,000 career points milestone, and Drake has admitted he regards LeBron to be one of his heroes.

He shared: ''Seems like every time we look up, you're setting another milestone or breaking another record and I always tell you that you're one of the most inspirational people in my life.''

Drake shows Big Shaq ''a lot of love''.

The 26-year-old rapper - whose full name is Michael Dapaah - has admitted the 'Hotline Bling' hitmaker is a huge supporter of him and often messages the artist over social media.

Speaking to The Daily Star newspaper, the 'Balance' vocalist said: ''Drake has been following me for a while, he shows a lot of lobe and we speak via DM all the time.''

Rap megastar Drake interrupted his own performance in Sydney this week in order to call out somebody in the crowd who was sexually harassing female fans.

The Canadian star was in the middle of a set in a club in the Australian city on Wednesday night (November 15th) when he cut the beat of his track ‘Know Yourself’ and stopped, pointing at the man he had spotted in the crowd using his gig as a way to touch up women, and threatened to “come down” and sort him out if he didn’t stop.

“If you don’t stop touching girls I’m going to come out there and f*** you up,” Drake can be seen saying in a video after stopping, mid-song, to raucous cheers. “You need to stop putting your hands on girls or I’m gonna come out there and f***” you up.”

When the first news and photos of Selena Gomez with her current boyfriend The Weeknd emerged this year, Bella Hadid wasn’t best pleased.

She and the Canadian singer, real name Abel Tesfaye, were in a relationship for more than a year before breaking up in 2016. When photos appeared back in January of him kissing Selena while on a date in L.A., she immediately unfollowed her on Instagram before posting a photo of herself flipping the bird.

An extremely serious charge has been brought against rappers Drake and Future after a fan accused them of being partly responsible for an attack she allegedly suffered at the hands of one of the security guards when she was backstage at their Summer Sixteen tour last year.

David Bowie has been named as the most popular recording artist of 2016, beating the multi-million selling likes of Adele and Drake, according to the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).

Following the shocking news of the music icon’s death, which broke in early January 2016, the official body governing the music industry in Britain reports that 1.6 million Bowie albums were either bought or streamed by British listeners in the 12 months of last year, more than any other single artist.

The rediscovery of Bowie’s massive back catalogue, combined with his final album Blackstar that was released just two days before his passing, meant that his sales figures were higher than anybody else.

Rapper Drake may have come to the rescue of cancelled Channel Four drama ‘Top Boy’, by offering to finance a third series based in Chicago. According to the show’s star Ashley Walters, Drake has talked about helping bring the show back, but he’ll have to stump up more cash.

Drake is a big fan of axed Channel 4 drama ‘Top Boy’.

Speaking on YouTube series ‘Not For The Radio’ Walters said, "Drake thought ['Top Boy'] was proper. This was via text. I was speaking to Future mainly, Drake's manager. We were going back and forth. And we were like, 'Put a deal on the table’.”

Despite not having released an album in nearly half a decade, Sean “P Diddy” Combs has been revealed as the highest-earning hip-hop star in the world this year with a gross income of $60 million from June 2014 to June 2015.

Diddy displaces Dr Dre in Forbes’ annual Hip-Hop Cash Kings rundown, with his income coming from various successful business ventures plus number of sponsorship and endorsement deals. His Ciroc brand of vodka has proven extremely popular in the States, and it has been this that has formed the bedrock of his financial health this year.

The rapper has also enjoyed income from his clothing line Sean John, his water brand Aquahydrate and TV network Revolt.

The rumours are true and the wait is (almost) over! Drake and Future will be releasing their collaborative mixtape, What a Time to Be Alive, exclusively through iTunes and Apple Music tonight (Sunday 20th). The album will get its first play on Drake’s OVO Sound radio show on Beats 1 at 6 p.m. EST.

Tidal users who were tuning in to the livestream of Lil Wayne’s gig at his Lil Weezyana Festival in New Orleans were left missing out when Drake stopped by to deliver a brief three-song cameo. When Drake hit the stage the livestream stopped, reportedly due to the fact that the Canadian rapper is Apple Music’s main man, while Wayne is a co-owner of Jay-Z’s Tidal.

Drake’s performance with Lil Wayne was cut from Tidal’s livestream.

The Tidal twitter account told users, ”Apple is interfering with artistry and will not allow this artist to stream. Sorry for Big Brother’s inconvenience” as Drake took the stage, adding ”We'll be back after the performance.”
