With 3 BET Awards, 9 Grammy nominations, an MTV Video Music award (plus 8 other nominations) all stacked upon almost 100 other award nominations and wins, who needs a high school diploma? Drake does, that's who. Drake tweeted to his followers yesterday (17th Oct. 2012) that he has finally “graduated high school!”

Naturally, the artists is overjoyed. He also tweeted his results; “97% on my final exam. 88% in the course. One of the greatest feelings in my entire life.” Recognizing that he didn't do it alone, he also expressed his gratitude to the woman that helped get him through: “Thank you to my teacher Kim Janzen for spending the last 5 months working tirelessly with me!!”

Drake dropped out of high school to pursue a career in acting, having been offered a role on a Canadian show, called 'Degrassi: The Next Generation' in which he played a paralysed basketball player. His decision wasn't one he has lived to regret though, and his intensions and reasoning behind it were all good. MTV quotes him in an interview with Complex, saying; "My mother was very sick. We were poor, like broke," he said. "The only money I had coming in was off of Canadian TV, which isn't that much money... A season of Canadian television is under a teacher's salary, I'll tell you that much."

Speaking to Kentucky Sports Television earlier this year, he said that his experience of school wasn't great originally, but that the University of Kentucky really inspired him. He spoke about visi the university; “it just really gave me a sense of school, a sense of love, a sense of belonging to something.” Rolling Stone reports “So that's why I feel like I belong to the UK family, and that's why I'm graduating from high school this month. So, I'm actually inspired by UK, inspired by these boys right here.”

Now all that's left to wonder is whether he'll go after those 'Crewe Love' 'diplomas on the wall'.
