Comedian Drew Carey has offered $10,000 to Bay Village police if they want to start a reward fund to aid in the apprehension of students who cruelly tricked an autistic boy into taking part in a fake ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Video footage, taken on the 15-year-old's phone and uploaded on to Instagram, shows the teenager being drench in liquid which reportedly contained urine and faeces.

Carey, who is best known for hosting Who's Line Is It Anyway? And The Price Is Right, evidently saw the footage and reports yesterday (6th September). He pledged to donate $10,000 if the police department of Bay Village wanted to start a reward fund in order to find the culprits. Carey wrote on Twitter, "WTF? Just saw this [the video and reports]. Horrendous. These kids should be arrested and expelled." He added in another tweet "If the Bay Village PD wants to start a reward fund to find who did this, contact me. I'll donate $10k."

Carey later added if the reward was not used he would donate the money to a charity which helps those with autism, Autism Speaks

The response to the cruel incident has been overwhelming and the larger community of Bay Village in Ohio has ensured the vulnerable boy and his family are aware they are supporting them and doing what they can to apprehend the culprits, as Cleveland.com reports. The police were made aware of the incident earlier this week and are stressing the bullies could face criminal charges.

It appears the reward and publicity surrounding the incident, as a result of Carey's involvement, may have paid off. Carey retweeted a comment by one Twitter user who claimed to know the three culprits and had a confession from each of them. Evidently the police will have to investigate but it does appear people are willing to come forward now there's the possibility of a financial reward. Which makes you wonder, whatever happened to simply doing the right thing?
