The first trailer for Disney's next animated epic 'Moana' has finally arrived and so far we are loving Dwayne Johnson in his admittedly typecast role of a hulking, tattooed demi-god. Inspired by the directors' visits to Pacific islands the likes of Fiji, Samoa and Tahiti, this is a story of freedom, heart, and sunshine.

Dwayne Johnson goes for his usual stereotypical role with 'Moana'; his character Maui is a great demi-god and wielder of a fish hook which grants him the power to slow time, release islands from the watery depths of the ocean and battle fierce leviathans of the sea. But it'll take more than that to impress Moana and her pet pig.

'Moana' is set in ancient Oceania and follows the adventures of a young girl with an exceptional talent for navigation. Princess Moana Waialiki, the sole daughter of a chief, is determined to use her skills to uncover an island that legend has recorded as lost forever. As tricky as her quest may be, luckily she has the help of Maui whom she has admired for most of her short life. But just how far do his powers really extend?

Moana is being portrayed by newcomer Auli'i Cravalho, while also featuring in the cast are Alan Tudyk ('Trumbo') and the Tony-nominated star of 'Hamilton' Phillipa Soo, who will play a villager of Moana's island Motunui.

Speaking of 'Hamilton', the genius behind the musical itself, Lin-Manuel Miranda, is also involved with the movie as co-writer and composer for the music alongside Opetaia Foa'i and Mark Mancina.

'Moana' comes to US theaters this Thanksgiving, November 23rd 2016.
