Rocker Eddie Vedder has publicly thanked The Who's Pete Townshend for giving him an appreciation of the ukelele.
The Pearl Jam star is set to release an album full of ukelele music - and he insists it's all the result of listening to Townshend's strumming on The Who's Blue Red and Grey.
Explaining the song helped "legitimise the instrument", Vedder tells RollingStone.com, "I thanked Pete profusely, but I should probably send him some dough (money), or a nice ukulele. I think I owe it to him at this point."
