Elizabeth Banks at the LA film premiere of 'Pitch Perfect 3' held at Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The film comes two years after the first sequel and has been directed by Trish Sie - Los Angeles, California, United States - Wednesday 13th December 2017
It has been a few years since the Barden Bellas graduated from college, and while they have largely managed to stay in touch, they have not performed together at musical World Championships for a very long time. Needless to say, with their various career ventures not going as well as they had hoped and the media still keeping a close eye on them and willing them to fail, they are missing their beloved a cappella sing-a-longs a lot right now.
Beca Mitchell (Anna Kendrick) has quit her job out of boredom, Flo Fuentes (Chrissie Fit) is serving on a city juice stall, Chloe Beale (Brittany Snow) is struggling to get into vet school and Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) is now a not so popular impersonator called Fat Amy Winehouse. But maybe they can give their musical passions a boost with a new kind of show...
Aubrey Posen (Anna Camp) has an idea of trying to obtain an invite to perform at a competition show in Europe set up by the United Service Organizations (USO) in support of the US Army soldiers. It's not like they have anything else to do at the moment so the group are all for it. However, armed only with their voices, they have quite the competition as many of their rivals are bands with actual instruments.

The actress was being honored at the Women In Film Crystal + Lucy Awards
It seems Hollywood superstar Elizabeth Banks wasn’t always as sought out as actress as she currently is and was in fact told she needed to change her looks if she wanted to make it in the industry. The Hunger Games star was allegedly urged to undergo plastic surgery by her first acting agent.
While being honored at the Women In Film Crystal + Lucy Awards earlier this week, the 43-year-old actress revealed a piece of advice she chose not take when she started out in Hollywood in 1997.
Go Go Power Rangers! Billy Cranston, Jason Lee Scott, Kimberly Hart, Trini Kwan and Zack Taylor are five kids who are all at Angel Grove high school together. Not one of them is particularly popular and they find themselves being brought together through an equal disdain for the rest of their classmates.
What the five new friends don't realise is that they are soon to become important to everyone on the planet. When the group go off adventuring, they find themselves in an old quarry and uncover the secret that will change all their lives. When they hear sirens, the group flee the area and head back to their homes but in the days following they all realise that their physique has changed significantly and their muscular strength is far superior to any normal human. As they begin to experiment with their new powers, they find they can fight, jump and withstand huge amounts of force.
Their new personal changes are not the only thing the teenagers have to think about, they're also faced with information that will cause a great darkness to be cast over the world. Their little town of Angel Grove is being threatened by a deadly alien force lead by the wicked Rita Repulsa. Though they're young, the five heroes must team together and defend their town - and ultimately the rest of the world - from Repulsa.

Suzanne Collins' saga comes to a suitably epic conclusion in a climactic series of battles that are packed with emotional kicks to the gut. Director Francis Lawrence continues to show remarkable reverence for the source novels while relying on his A-list cast to bring layers of nuance to even the smallest roles. The result is a massively textured war movie that's packed with darkly personal moments and glimpses of wit and spark. It's also a satisfying conclusion to the franchise that avoids the usual Hollywood bombast.
As the rebels prepare to attack Panem's Capitol and President Snow (Donald Sutherland), the rebellion's figurehead Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) decides to take matters into her own hands. Rebel leaders Coin and Plutarch (Julianne Moore and Philip Seymour Hoffman) try to stay one step ahead of Katniss, using her as the Mockingjay to rally the troops. With Gale (Liam Hemsworth), a not-quite-unbrainwashed Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and a small group of cohorts, Katniss works her way across the bombed-out city to Snow's mansion, intending to put an arrow through his heart. But the battle takes a shocking twist, and Katniss has to make a difficult decision about doing the right thing no matter what it costs her.
Right from the start, the filmmakers continue to echo Katniss' earliest act of heroism when she volunteered for the Hunger Games to protect her sister Prim (Willow Shields) and then vowed to keep Peeta safe in the violent arena. These are the things that drive her right to the very end of this saga, holding the audience in an emotional grip. This means that the political nastiness, violent warfare and publicity posturing all have a much deeper resonance for the audience, while for Katniss they are virtually irrelevant. Her mission remains untainted: she just wants to protect her loved ones and make the future safe. Which is why her speeches carry such rousing power.

Some of the cast from the billion-dollar franchise would return if any more books were written
Jennifer Lawrence has stood as Katniss Everdeen against the Capitol for the final time in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 and, while she has not spoken of her desire to reprise her role for further films, many of The Hunger Games cast has.
J-Law takes on Katniss Everdeen for the final time
The hugely successful franchise - which has brought in a staggering $2billion at box offices worldwide - is based on Suzanne Collins’ dystopian books and came to its natural end at the same point the novels did.

'Burnt' co-stars Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller are among those showing support for Lawrence's essay.
Miller and Cooper, who were interviewed on the red carpet at the premiere of their new movie Burnt on Wednesday (October 14th), both weighed in on the article that Lawrence published via Lena Dunham’s newsletter Lenny the previous day.
33 year old Miller revealed that she once turned down a play because she was offered less than half the pay of her male co-star – in a two-person production. She told E! News that she reluctantly did “what we have to start doing, unfortunately, at the expense of our creative dreams… …I walked away from a play I wanted to do because I was offered less than half of what the other man was offered and it was just the two of us.”
Katniss Everdeen is determined to take down President Snow once and for all. Too many lives have been sacrificed and too many homes destroyed while the Capitol has brainwashed and controlled the people of Panem. Now re-united with Peeta after his rescue from Snow's clutches, Katniss gathers her friends from District 13 - Gale, Finnick and Cressida - and sets out on the ultimate mission to free Panem, and fight Snow to the death. But it seems it's not only Snow that wants Katniss dead, as she becomes increasingly paranoid about some of the supposed rebels. Facing increasing uncertainty, more tragedy and some of the worse warfare she could possibly imagine, Katniss starts to realise that ending the nightmare won't end the fear or the collective sorrow.
Paul Dano and John Cusack star in this unique portrayal of one of music's most talented yet troubled individuals.

In June 2015, the biopic of one of music's greatest living legends, Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys, was released to a rapturous response. Depicting him in two major decades of his life, 'Love And Mercy' was directed by the Oscar nominated Bill Pohlad ('12 Years A Slave', 'Brokeback Mountain') and captured both the intense pain and the immense happiness that he struggled with throughout his successful career.
'Charlie’s Angels' is set for a remake, but will 'Pitch Perfect 2’s' Banks be in the director’s chair?
Fresh off the box office success of Pitch Perfect 2, actress Elizabeth Banks could be about to take on a major new directing project, a big screen reboot of Charlie’s Angels. The 41year old moved behind the camera for the first time earlier this year for Pitch Perfect 2, which ended up setting a record for the highest grossing directorial debut at the box office.
Elizabeth Banks is said to be in talks to direct a Charlie’s Angels reboot.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony is putting together a Charlie’s Angels reboot and Banks is in talks to direct. Banks is also being eyed to produce the film along with her husband and producing partner Max Handelman. The studio is said to be currently looking for a scriptwriter.

An unusually inventive approach brings this story to life, as the filmmakers get into the mind of the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson to reveal how he created those unforgettable songs. Even more impressive is the depiction of Wilson's troubled personal life, which plays out with an unnerving resonance rarely matched by rock-star biopics. This is due to artful direction and writing plus committed performances from Paul Dano and John Cusack, who play Wilson at two key points in his life.
As a young man in the 1960s, Brian Wilson (Dano) is a prodigious genius, preferring to stay in the studio while his brothers Dennis and Carl (Kenny Wormald and Brett Davern) and their bandmate Mike Love (Jake Abel) head out to meet girls on tour. They don't understand Brian's obsession with oddball sounds, but let him do his thing until it becomes clear that he's mentally unstable. Years later, in the late 1980s, Brian (now Cusack) falls for Cadillac saleswoman Melinda (Elizabeth Banks), who realises that he is being over-medicated and possibly abused by his controlling psychiatrist guardian Eugene (Paul Giamatti). And instead of leaving, as Eugene orders her to do, she fights for Brian.
These two time periods are interwoven together in a strikingly seamless way, shifting back and forth to build a potent dramatic and emotional momentum. By seeing everything from Wilson's perspective, the filmmakers are able to take the audience on a remarkable journey through his life, avoiding the usual predictable formula. Wilson's life may follow the usual trajectory of success followed by drug abuse, but his mental illness adds an involving angle that's depicted with sensitivity by Dano and Cusack, as well as director Bill Pohlad and writers Oren Moverman and Michael Alan Lerner. Even more impressive is Banks' performance, which is the key that takes us right into the story. It's a beautifully textured turn that reminds us that she can do a lot more than steal movies in comical roles (see Pitch Perfect, Magic Mike and The Hunger Games).
