The show was soon cancelled, however Marlens and Black enjoyed her performance so much that they cast her in their pilot 'These Friends Of Mine'; a show which was later titled 'Ellen' and ran between 1994 and 1998. The show hit huge ratings after she came out as homosexual. As part of a new attraction named 'Ellen's Energy Adventure' at 'Universe of Energy' - a pavillion at Walt Disney World's Epcot theme park - she appeared in a series of three films. The ride opened in 1996. DeGeneres landed her first recurring TV role as Margo Van Meter in 'Open House', starring alongside Alison LaPlaca and Mary Page Keller. She also lent her voice to a dog in 'Dr. Dolittle'. DeGeneres won American Express an Emmy for their 2006 commercial featuring her working with animals. In 2008, DeGeneres began working with Cover Girl Cosmetics, but was criticised due to her animal rights values clashing with Cover Girl's use of animal testing. As of 2010 DeGeneres has her own record label called Eleveneleven. Greyson Chance was the first acted the label signed.
Personal Life: Ellen DeGeneres is openly homosexual. She had a relationship with actress Anne Heche which lasted from 1997 to 2000. In 2010, DeGeneres was the campaign ambassador to Farm Sanctuary's 'Adopt A Turkey' Project, which asked people to start a new Thanksgiving tradition of adopting a turkey to replace the current tradition of eating one.
The actress has the funniest story about her husband and meeting Ellen.
Margot Robbie has just delivered what is perhaps the most hilarious 'When I met Ellen' story ever told during her appearance on 'The Ellen Show' last week. On the other hand, it's safe to say that her husband Tom Ackerley found the whole thing less amusing.

The 'I, Tonya' star and her new husband were on a delayed honeymoon following the completion of her movie. After four days spent on a remote island in Tahiti without electricity or even mirrors, they ended the week with a stay at a luxury hotel.

Calling emergency services when it turns out there's no real emergency is one of the most embarrassing things that can happen to a person - but it certainly informed some great comedy for comedian Kumail Nanjiani, who spoke about his experience on 'The Ellen Show' this week.

She just doesn't have that kind of time, Eric.
Just another ridiculous statement to come out of the Trump family; Ellen Degeneres is now being accused of being a part of a secret government conspiracy called the 'Deep State', just because she popped up on Eric Trump's Twitter suggestions. But the comedian is way too busy with her gay agenda and illuminati meetings.

When Ellen found that she was trending on Twitter yesterday (January 3rd 2018), she thought people were just raving about her new series 'Ellen's Game Of Games'. They were, of course, but they were also discussing Eric Trump's screenshot which featured Ellen, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton as add suggestions.

The best holiday games, mostly inspired by Jimmy Fallon.
Christmastime for most people is the time of year when you get together with your whole family, exchange gifts, eat yourselves stupid, watch the same movies and, of course, play a few games. Aside from the usual charades, karaoke, Cards Against Humanity and board games, here's some super entertaining games you can play, all inspired by talk show segments.

1. Whisper Challenge: A 'Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' favourite, this one is loud and very silly. The aim of the game is to guess what phrase the challenger is saying just by reading their lips. The person guessing has to wear headphones blaring loud music so they can't hear; though of course you could just have the challenger mouthe the words instead.

DeGeneres has come under fire for a tweet she sent celebrating Katy Perry's birthday.
The daytime talk show host tweeted on Wednesday (October 25th) to wish the pop megastar a happy 33rd birthday.
“Happy birthday, @KatyPerry! It’s time to bring out the big balloons!” the 59 year old presenter wrote, captioning a picture of her gawping open-mouthed at Perry’s breasts, in an attempt at humour as it referenced the lyrics to the star’s ‘Birthday’ hit.

DeGeneres invited Megyn Kelly onto her show this week, and they discussed Donald Trump.
Ellen Degeneres has admitted that she would never Donald Trump to be a guest on her daytime talk show – because she believes that the controversial president represents a threat to the country, and to her personally.
The 59 year old chat show host Ellen had NBC’s Megyn Kelly – who was infamously a target of Trump’s presidential campaign last year – on her show on Wednesday (September 20th). She asked Kelly whether she would ever consider having Trump as a guest on her new morning show, ‘Megyn Kelly Today’, which launches next Monday.
“Definitely,” Kelly responded. “I mean, I would not say no to the sitting president of the United States.”

The stars were left mildly embarrassed by Ellen's questions.
There's nothing like a game of 'Never Have I Ever' with Ellen Degeneres to show you up if you're a celebrity, and Reese Witherspoon and Pink certainly found themselves in an embarrassing position when they realised just how squeaky clean the talk show host is.

The singer, whose album 'Beautiful Trauma' comes out this October, and the 'Big Little Lies' actress were invited on to 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' this week to discuss their current lives and careers, and found themselves instead divulging their darkest secrets in a hilarious game of 'Never Have I Ever'. Ellen asked the questions while they all answered with a paddle reading 'I Have' on one side and 'I Have Never' on the other.
Nicki explains the 'Ellen' line to the talk show host.
For the second name in her career, Nicki Minaj has name-dropped everyone's favourite talk-show host Ellen Degeneres in her new song 'No Frauds'. Now the latter wants to know what that was all about and it seems the rapper is just 'obsessed' with being on her show.

Nicki Minaj dropped her new single 'No Frauds' featuring Lil Wayne and Drake earlier this year, and it includes the rather ambiguous line: 'I am the generous queen! Ask Ms. Ellen' which, phonetically, can also read 'I am Degeneres queen! Ask Ms. Ellen'. It seems Nicki was only too eager to explain what that line actually meant.

Johnny Depp has fun on 'The Ellen Show' during a quick-fire question round.
Ellen Degeneres seriously wasn't having it with Johnny Depp this week when he refused to answer a few of her quickfire questions honestly. Nonetheless, it was still a very entertaining segment on her show, which aired ahead of his new film 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales'.
