Elvis Costello stunned fans in New York on Friday (01Apr11) when he joined The Strokes onstage for his second surprise appearance within days.
The Juicebox stars celebrated the release of Angles, their first album in five years, by performing at the fabled Madison Square Garden in front of their hometown crowd on April Fool's Day, and they brought Costello out to collaborate on the appropriately titled Taken For A Fool.
It was the veteran rocker's second unannounced gig in the city in a week - he thrilled concert-goers at Further's Big Apple gig on 27 March (11) when he took the mic to sing classic Grateful Dead tracks with former members Bob Weir and Phil Lesh's new band.
