Gravity

Independiente - 30/8/2004

“Honey it’s been a long time coming”

Warbles Danny Mcnamara in the opening lyrics, and right he is. Since their previous success with “Come Back To What You Know” and “All You Good Good People,” Embrace have been a little on the quiet side, that is until now.

Embrace - Gravity - Independiente - Single Review

Embrace fans will be revelling in the news of their return, as debut single “Gravity,”taken from forthcoming album “Out of Nothing”lands, but was it worth the wait?

The opening chords make it clear that you cannot mistake the Embrace formula, swaying acoustics, warm you up, before breaking in with raw and emotive vocals, with a surprise twist of pianos added to the equation.

The genuine melancholic melodies show the Embrace magic still exists, the surprise comes when you read that the one waving the magic wand, or pen this time around is not actually Mcnamara, but good friend Chris Martin of Coldplay.

Despite this, the offering is most definitly Embrace, and existing fans need not despair, Keane/Coldplay/Snow Patrol fans don’t pass this one up! A must for lovers of emotional music fans everywhere. Leaving loved ones behind for university? Take this number with you.
