Emilia Clarke's mum is ''badass'' and helped her channel the part of 'Sarach Connor' in the new 'Terminator Genisys' movie.

The 28-year-old revealed that her mum was a big influence on her growing up and the star feels lucky to have been able to play such strong female characters in her career so far.

In an interview with Marie Claire magazine she said: ''It's funny to me to talk about strong, independent women because I've got a really badass mum, so I've grown up thinking that women weren't anything other than absolutely equal to men.

She added: ''My career so far has been all about playing strong women.''

The 'Mother of Dragons' as she is known in the smash-hit series 'Game of Thrones', confessed that she really doesn't want to ''f**k up'' the role of Sarah Connor and is terrified of being ripped apart by the franchise's legion of fans if she doesn't do the character justice.

She said: ''You just can't f**k it up. There's a million billion boy fan-boys who will literally pull my head off if I do.''

However the star revealed that she was determined to put her stamp on the character.

She added: ''I am not playing a copycat - her back story has changed and I've got to put my own spin on it.''
