Emily Ratajkowski has described how she united with Kim Kardashian in March to pose for a naked selfie, after she defended Kim during a twitter spat with Piers Morgan. The actress was interview by Naomi Wolf for this month’s Harper’s Bazaar magazine, in which she posed naked as Lady Godiva for the cover.

Revealing how the picture came about Ratajkowski said: “I didn't know her personally, but Kim posted this naked selfie in March, and there were black bars on her private areas. And there was this uproar, especially from Piers Morgan, who wrote this whole thing about 'she's a mother, she's 35, it's ridiculous. She’s too old and she's a mother, and we've given her enough attention, like she needs to stop doing this.'"

The Gone Girl star said Morgan’s reaction had made her really angry, especially when he said Kardashian’s husband Kanye West had written tweets for her in response to his criticism. After Ratajkowski jumped in and defended Kardashian she says the reality star sent her flowers as a thank-you.

“We ended up running into each other and had this idea to take a similar selfie with our middle fingers up,” Ratajkowski continued. “A selfie is a sort of interesting way to reclaim the gaze, right? You're looking at yourself and taking a photo while looking at everyone. But also who cares? Kim's allowed to do what she wants.”

“You know, when Lena Dunham takes her clothes off, she gets flack, but it's also considered brave; when Justin Bieber takes his shirt off, he's a grown-up,” she added. “But when a woman who is sexual takes off her top, it plays into something.”

Once Ratajkowski’s naked Harper’s Bazaar cover was unveiled earlier this week, Morgan once again had something to say. Sharing an image of the cover he tweeted: “Do you want me to buy you some clothes? You look freezing.” But the actress shut down the former CNN host perfectly, telling him “thanks, but I don't need clothes as much as you need press.”
