School officials at San Joaquin Memorial High School alerted local authorities when they spotted what appeared to be a threat to the safety of students and teachers online, and shut down lessons and activities on Tuesday (01Sep15) amid an investigation.

The Catholic school the 15-year-old rap fan previously attended was also locked down for the day as the teenager was taken into custody to explain why he posted Eminem's lyrics on his social media page.

The note read, "I take seven kids from Columbine, stand 'em all in line/Add an AK-47, a revolver, a nine/A MAC-11 and it oughtta solve the problem of mine/And that's a whole school of bullies shot up all at one time", and was lifted from his favourite Eminem track.

The unnamed teen added the line, "I'm just like Shady..."

He was charged with making terrorist threats and disrupting school activity, according to local newspaper The Fresno Bee.

Sources tell the publication the teen recently lost his mother, had just broken up with a girlfriend and had quit the school football team, and at a press conference, Fresno police chief Jerry Dyer said, "These are really all of the things we look for in individuals that historically have been involved in incidents like Columbine. We're very fortunate that this was brought to our attention."

Police found a replica AK-47 Airsoft rifle, a handgun, various other guns and a bulletproof vest in a raid on the teen's home, but his lawyer insists the authorities jumped to conclusions too quickly, adding, "They weren't trying to get information. They were questioning him as if he were already guilty."

A teacher and 12 students were killed when students Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold opened fire at Columbine High School in Colorado in April, 1999 and then committed suicide.
