Eva Longoria has ''never been happier''.

The 'Desperate Housewives' beauty is really loved up with boyfriend Jose Antonio Baston, according to her close pal Ana Ortiz.

She said: ''They're a gorgeous couple, and I've never seen her happier. I am so thrilled that she has someone who is not intimidated by her and who is not afraid by her power, her beauty, her friendship and her drive. He's just as driven and he's so supportive.''

And the 'Devious Maids' star thinks the 40-year-old star would be the perfect presidential candidate because she has ''brilliant ideas''.

She added to PEOPLE magazine: ''I push her all the time to do it. She has brilliant ideas. She really walks the walk. I think she would be an incredible politician and people would want to listen to her. She's gorgeous, she's smart she's funny. She has my vote!''

Meanwhile, Eva recently revealed she is ''in love'' with the 47-year-old businessman and believes her feelings are to credit for her good looks.

She said: ''I'm truly in love, mostly....every moment we get to send together is a blessing.

''People want a secret to looking good, but there isn't one. I'm in love, that has a lot to do with it. I take good care of myself, it's no secret, I eat a healthy diet and I exercise.''
