Evan Ross has been cast in 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay'.

The '90210' actor - who is the son of legendary singer Diana Ross - will play Messalla in the final two instalments of the Jennifer Lawrence-starring fantasy adventure franchise, Lionsgate has confirmed.

Ross' character is taken from Suzanne Collins' 'Hunger Games' novels, in which he is a camera crew member who helps capture footage of Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) leading a rebellion against the powerful Capitol.

Messalla is an assistant to filmmaker Cressida, who is set to be played by 'Game of Thrones' actress Natalie Dormer.

Producers have been busy lining up several actors for roles in 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' and 'Part 2' over the last week, with Australian actress Stef Dawson also cast in the movies as Annie Cresta, love interest to Sam Claflin's Finnick Odair.

Production on the final two movies will begin this year for release in November 2014 and November 2015, respectively.

Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth will once again lead the cast for the flicks and 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' director Francis Lawrence is set to direct.

The second movie in the series, 'Catching Fire', is due for release in November.
