Reality TV star Ferne McCann has announced that she’s given birth to a baby girl a week early, her first child with ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins.

The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star, 27, took to Instagram on Thursday night (November 2nd) to confirm her happy news, posting a picture of herself holding the newborn, whom she has not yet named. “Welcome to the world my darling. Didn’t expect to see you a week early,” she captioned it. “I’m so in love and bursting with pride. It’s a girl.”

McCann, now a showbiz reporter on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ show, decided not to discover the sex of the baby before it arrived, and is set to raise her daughter as a single mother after breaking up with the baby’s father Arthur Collins.

He was accused of throwing acid at clubbers in a London nightclub back in April this year. Collins has since denied five counts of grievous bodily harm with intent, along with nine counts of actual bodily harm against 14 people. His trial is underway at Wood Green Crown Court.

McCann previously told OK! Magazine earlier this year that she was torn between two names if the baby turned out to be a girl.

“I had a girl's name but I've just thought of another one I like so, if it's a girl, I'm going to see what the baby looks like and then decide between the two,” she said. “I think the name I choose is what people will have the most opinions on and that will bug me, but it's my decision.”

Reacting to the happy news, McCann’s former co-star on ‘TOWIE’ Gemma Collins tweeted: “So emotional right now congratulations @fernemccann on your beautiful little girl.”
