LATEST: Organisers of New York's Field Day FESTIVAL have just three days to find a new venue for their inaugural event - after giving up hope of winning a permit from Suffolk County officials.
Permission to set up stages in Suffolk County was refused when the organisers of the festival failed to supply the additional 200 law enforcement officers that county officials deemed necessary to patrol the event.
The festival is expected to draw 50,000 people.
An attorney for Field Day promoter ANDREW DRESKIN says the county's demands were excessive and geared toward making sure the event wouldn't happen. Dreskin is planning to sue Suffolk County officials.04/06/2003 21:03
