50 Cent has offered his support to friend-turned-rival floyd mayweather, Jr. as the boxing champ comes to terms with a murder-suicide involving his rap associate Earl Hayes.

The bodies of Hayes and his wife, dancer Stephanie Moseley, were discovered in a Los Angeles apartment on Monday (08Dec14).

Police launched an investigation into the deaths and have since named Hayes as the suspect, amid claims he fatally shot his wife before turning the gun on himself.

A statement released to UsMagazine.com reads: "The initial investigation revealed that 34-year-old Earl Warren Hayes shot his wife, 30-year-old Stephanie Elyse Moseley, to death and then took his own life.

"The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced both Mr. Hayes and Ms. Moseley dead at the scene."

The latest reports suggest Hayes flew into a rage after suspecting the dancer of cheating on him with R&B star Trey Songz.

The singer has not commented on the claims, but took to Twitter.com to pay tribute to Moseley, writing, "R.I.P babygirl. Once an angel on earth, now watching over us from Heaven. You'll b (sic) missed but never forgotten. Love".

Meanwhile, 50 Cent has reached out to Mayweather, Jr. online, after previously falling out with the boxer over business differences while attempting to build a sports empire in 2012.

According to Tmz.com, the sportsman had been on a video call with Hayes as the tragedy unfolded and is reportedly struggling with the harrowing loss.

Upon hearing the news, 50 Cent took to his Instagram.com page and addressed Mayweather, Jr. in a message which read: "RIP Hayes, @floydmayweather you are my little brother... Don't you ever do nothing to your self no matter what champ. We can fall out and fight or what ever, but I don't want to see you go out like that (like Hayes)."

The boxer appeared to appreciate his words and shared the same note on his social networking blog.
