The star passed away of natural causes in Woodland Hills, California on Friday (12Jun15).

Lewis was best known for providing the singing voice for the Miss Chiquita Banana TV commercial character in 1947.

She also had roles in several TV shows and movies, including Earthquake, Airport '77 and Ironside.

In addition to her acting work, Lewis was also a successful singer and sang in Benny Goodman's orchestra.

Lewis also appeared on The Chesterfield Hour - Music That Satisfies alongside Frank Sinatra and headlined Toast of the Town with composers Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein and comedy team Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis in 1948.

Monica Lewis was married to film producer Jennings Lang until his death in 1996. They shared three sons: Robert and singer Michael, who were adopted, and Rocky, who is now a screenwriter, producer, director and author.

Her past romances included former actor and U.S. President Ronald Reagan, Kirk Douglas and writer Liam O'Brien, according to Variety.com.
