After the success of 2013's 'Tape Deck Heart', which reached number two in the UK album chart, Frank Turner will be embracing his folky-punk aesthetic yet again on 'Positive Songs For Negative People'. His sixth studio album, Turner recorded the collection over a period of nine days in a studio in Nashville with the legendary Butch Walker.

'Pretty much all of it is live', explained Turner, who took on the talents of his backing band The Sleeping Souls on the new record. 'The end result is everything I wanted it to be.'

And what exactly did Turner want it to be? Well, he admits that as time goes on, making albums can become a bit of a routine process and he was determined to capture some of the thrills of making a first record. 'I feel like this record is my definitive statement, a summation of the first five records', he said. 'When a band makes a debut record, there's a freshness and excitement to it that bands often lose as time goes by. I wanted to make a record with that young, exciting feel.'
