The news that Frankie Muniz suffered a mini stroke came as quite a shock to fans of his, most of which know him from his role as Malcolm in The Middle. Muniz was only 26 when it happened, and has spent his 27th birthday in recovery after the health scare.

It's no way to spend a birthday week, but then again, if you're a glass half full kinda person, then not being dead and actually reaching your 27th birthday is nothing but a blessing. "I couldn't say words. I thought I was saying them. My fiancee was looking at me as if I was speaking a foreign language," Muniz recalled to Good Morning America. A mini stroke is caused by tiny lapses in blood flow to the brain. Considering Muniz's age (this kind of thing happens most typically to those 55+) it's hard to see where this came from, and when you consider he lives a life free of drugs and alcohol (same thing), then it only serves to enhance the enigma.

Muniz alerted fans to his stroke on Twitter, posting, "I was in the hospital last Friday. I suffered a 'Mini Stroke,' which was not fun at all," hetweeted just a few hours ago. "Have to start taking care of my body! Getting old!" His girlfriend also used social media to inform people of his near miss, updating her Instagram with a photo of him laying in a hospital bed.
