Fred Willard's arrest at the Tiki adult theater in Hollywood came after police conducted a random "walk through" of the premises. The 'Anchorman' star was arrested for lewd conduct after he was caught exposing his genitals whilst watching one of the adult movies, reports Tmz.com.
Early reports had suggested Willard's arrest came after a "raid" on the building, though sources say police often perform random "walk through" searches to make sure everything is in order. In this case, everything was certainly not in order, and the Hollywood star was caught with his trousers down. Insiders say adult theaters get their licenses on the agreement that cops can visit to inspect whenever they choose. The Tiki venue actually has a sign posted in the front which warns customers that the place is "viewed by Lapd", it also warns, "No Alcohol, No Weapons, No smoking inside". Willard is best known for his memorable roles in 'For Your Consideration', 'Everyone Loves Raymond', 'American Wedding' and 'Best in Show'. The title of his latest movie? 'The Yank'.
The incident echoes the 1991 arrest of Pee Wee Herman, aka Paul Reubens. The television star was caught in an adult movie theater in Florida, also exposing his genitals, and the story gained huge media attention at the time.
