Frightened Rabbit Be Less Rude Album

Be Less Rude
Single Review

Straight out of the grim side of Glasgow come Frightened Rabbit, a trio whose dark tales of twisted normality put the greasy spoon into everyday kitchen sink dramas.

‘Be Less Rude’ is actually quite a free flowing little number that recalls The Wedding Present back in their awkward ‘Seamonsters’ days fed through a loud haler in Bellshill. Singer Scott Hutchison sounds both sincere and sorrowful, almost despairing at the subject of the song’s belated ignorance.

Flipside ‘The Greys’ meanwhile – the title track from the band’s forthcoming album – is more of a trip down archetypical Frightened Rabbit territory, borrowing from the same den of acerbic wit as The Twilight Sad whilst foraging its way through a tune Biffy Clyro would die for.

Yes, that good, and definitely ones to watch out for in 2008.
