Gene Simmons thinks Paris Hilton is ''pretty rock 'n' roll''.

The 65-year-old KISS rocker has revealed he is a fan of the socialite, who he describes as ''iconic'' because she has made a career ''by not doing anything''.

He said: ''Paris Hilton is the first iconic woman who's been able to access fame by not doing anything. Good for her. If it wasn't for Paris there wouldn't be the Kardashians ... She came and hung out backstage at a KISS show - the celebs get treated no better than the fans. Paris is pretty rock 'n' roll with the sex tape and everything. But everyone is human, hers just got released.''

The bassist - who married his long-term partner, with whom he has two grown up children, Shannon Tweed in 2011 - also spoke about his taste in women, saying he doesn't think men ''have a type'' they are attracted to, because they aren't picky.

He told the Sunday Mirror's Notebook magazine: ''Do I prefer blondes or brunettes? I prefer the female variety in general. Men don't have a type, no matter what they tell you! The longer a man goes without a woman, the more any woman looks attractive ... I know a lot about women.''
