George Clooney and Sandra Bullock are both single, both similar ages and have been working together recently in Gravity. The long-time friends are have been consistently rumored to be romantically involved, but they don’t exactly help themselves by constantly using the media as a conduit for their flirting.

The classroom dalliance even wormed its way into Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity script, as the ever-charming Clooney plays the experienced, yarn-spinning astronaut with ease. And, responding to Bullock’s playful claim that Clooney’s “not everyone's cup of tea,” the silver-haired icon decided to divulge something everyone knows isn’t true but secretly hopes is.

“She may say that she's not all that attracted to me, but she calls every night, three in the morning, drunk, "Hey, George, what are you doing?"' the 52-year-old told Entertainment Tonight. “[It's] non-stop. And then I just send her a bottle of tequila.” He added.

“We've known each other for so long, sexy is gone,” said Bullock back on Nov 6 on the U.K. morning talk show Daybreak. “Not that he's not sexy because he is very, very handsome. If you like that kind of dashing, charming, smart, talented, successful kind of thing."

It basically comes down to two things: either Clooney and Bullock are very much involved, and covering it all up, or they’re having a huge joke with every interviewer they come across. We’d plump for the latter.

We’ll see both stars when they inevitably turn up for The Oscars 2014. It’s highly likely that Gravity will be nominated in the Best Picture category, while a nod for Special Effects is almost guaranteed. Bullock’s performance might even temp the Academy, while Clooney’s is (SPOILER) shortlived, and probably not deserved of a supporting actor nom.
