Melanie Panayiotou has reportedly moved into his plush Highgate mansion
George Michael has reportedly left his sister his £10million London mansion and it has been suggested the 55-year-old hairdresser has already moved into the plush property. However, speculation continues to mount over the timing and whereabouts of the Wham! star’s funeral.
George Michael has reportedly left his mansion to his sister, Melanie
George's older sister, Melanie Panayiotou is believed to be currently making preparations for the Careless Whisper hitmaker’s "heartfelt and intimate" funeral from the Highgate property which became a makeshift shrine for grieving fans in the weeks after his untimely death.
It has been reported the singer’s oldest sister, Yioda, 57, is to receive a large chunk of her brother’s estimated £105 million fortune.
Mystery still surrounds the location and timing of George’s funeral - who was found dead at his home on Christmas Day aged 53.
A post mortem of the singer revealed he had died of natural causes.
It has been suggested the star will be laid to rest with his mother, Lesley Arnold, at Highgate Cemetery and family members are also considering the possibility of holding a service on Mother’s Day on March 26.
George’s mother passed away aged 60 following a battle with cancer in 1997.
A source told The Mirror that due to the closeness of George with his mother, his family think it’s fitting he be buried with her.
The source said: "Lesley was George’s world so it is fitting that they should now be together.
"George would always make a big deal out of Mother’s Day. He loved her so much and he would spend a lot of time talking to her there.
"The cemetery has a very special place in his heart."
Former Spice Girl Geri Horner, 44, who revealed she gave her new son the middle name George after the Faith singer, will reportedly be giving a reading the service.
