Gerling - Dust Me Selecta

GERLING are not, repeat not, your average alternative rock combo. This three piece put the 'e' in electic and the beat on the dance floor. They stamp on musical genres with a size 14 dms- this is a band that can take in hip hop, electro, punk and house, and forge something unique and magnificent.

Dust Me Selecta is a call to arms. The single was recorded in their native Sydney, produced by Magoo, and it sees GERLING heading off into the realms of deep house courtesy of a snatch of the Brothers Johnson "Stomp". Dust Me Selecta is the feel good hit of the summer.

GERLING's earliest attempts at proto-noise terrorism saw them attempting to play covers of WASP songs-they have since come a long way,baby. Indeed the start of 2002 saw GERLING take to the road as part of the Big Day Out tour, sharing a stage with Basement Jaxx, The White Stripes and Garbage.

As with all things in the GERLING universe,they show little concession to comformity. Thus the soon to come second LP, Headzcleaner, takes no prisoners and features contributions from Kylie, Solex, Kool Keith, Cornelius and Josh Abrahams of Puretone. Headzcleaner comes this way on June 10..

GERLING take flight from Australia this summer and head for the Homelands Festival. They are confirmed to play the main arena on Saturday 1 June. Expect more dates soon.
