Gigi Hadid was named International Model of the Year during Monday night's star-studded Fashion Awards, held in London.

The elder Hadid sibling was presented the award by Donatella Versace, and beat stiff competition from her own sister Bella Hadid and best pal Kendall Jenner.

The 21-year-old walked the red carpet in a stunning, futuristic-style silver Versace jumpsuit and was accompanied by her proud mother Yolanda Foster. Not in attendance was Gigi’s boyfriend, singer Zayn Malik.

But while Gigi might have beaten sister Bella for the prestigious title, there’s no sibling rivalry between the pair.

Last week Bella made her debut as a Victoria’s Secret Angel and it was Gigi who cheered her on as her biggest supporter. In a backstage video from the show, Gigi was shown becoming emotional as she spoke about her younger sister.

“I am so proud of Bella for getting this show because she worked so hard,” she said in a segment which aired on US TV on Monday.

“For us to be able to do it together, and be the first sisters in the show, we're really, really honoured.

“It's amazing to be able to experience all this and to be so excited for each other. She's my best friend and it's so crazy to be here together,” Gigi added.

Also holding back tears, Bella then added: "This is us happy. We’re a really emotional family."
