Gigi Hadid is set to bring her glamorous image to the high street with the announcement that she’ll be the face of retail giant Topshop’s new campaign.

The 20 year old American model is taking over from Cara Delevingne in time for Topshop’s autumn/winter range, adding this to her burgeoning portfolio of work that already includes campaigns for Balmain and Maxmara this year alone. She’ll also be joining her friend Ciara, whose photos have not yet been released.

A new set of images released on Monday (July 28th) by the brand indicates that Topshop is trying to achieve a greater international presence outside of Britain, with marketing campaigns apparently planned throughout Europe, North America and Asia.

Topshop’s CEO Sir Philip Green released a press release statement as part of Hadid’s unveiling as their new go-to model, saying: “working with Gigi Hadid on this campaign continues to strengthen our international vision for the Topshop brand. We are continually developing our footprint across all markets with ambitious plans both in the UK and internationally and I feel like Gigi is an ideal ambassador to underpin these efforts.”

Hadid is fast becoming one of the most talked-about names in Hollywood, keeping impeccable A-list company with the likes of Taylor Swift, Kendall and Kylie Jenner and Justin Bieber. Having already worked for a number of huge American fashion brands, securing an internationally recognised name like Topshop on her CV will only make her even more visible in the future.

As for Delevingne, she’s unlikely to be upset at her friend taking her place as Topshop’s most visible face. She’s been outspoken about her growing disillusionment with the modelling industry, stepping into acting with the likes of the newly-released Paper Towns and the forthcoming Suicide Squad flick planned for 2016.
