Billie Joe Armstrong's latest musical is set to appear off Broadway. The 43-year-old Green Day frontman penned These Paper Bullets! last year and it debuted at the Yale Repertory Theatre. These Paper Bullets! will be on at the off-Broadway Atlantic Theatre in November, coinciding with the theatre company's 30th anniversary.

These Paper Bullets! has been described as a "modish rip-off of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing with a serious backbeat." The musical is set in 1960's London and follows the exploits of a rock band from Liverpool as they struggle to find success and fame.

"Ben, Claude, Balth and Pedro. Their fans worship them. Scotland Yard fears them. And their former drummer will stop at nothing to destroy them. Can these fab four from Liverpool find true love in London and cut an album in seven nights?" the plot was described by the Yale Repertory Theatre.

It is not certain if the same cast or creative team from the Yale Repertory Theatre will be used for the upcoming production.

This is not the first time Armstrong has created a musical. In 2010, Armstrong co-created American Idiot, which featured songs from the band's seventh studio album of the same name. American Idiot was well received by critics and made an appearance on Broadway. The musical won two Tony Awards in 2010 for Best Scenic Design of a Musical and Best Lighting Design of a Musical. American Idiot was also nominated for Best Musical and, the following year, it won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.

Playbill first reported the news.
