Fact: Green Day will be honoured with the Global Icon Award at the 2016 MTV Europe Music Awards in Rotterdam, Netherlands on Sunday (06Nov16). The trio will also perform at the ceremony, where they'll be joined by G-Eazy, Charli XCX, and Tinie Tempah. Actor and musician Idris Elba will host the event.

Fact: Rocker Billie Joe Armstrong reunited with his FOREVERLY collaborator Norah Jones on Wednesday (24Jun15) to perform a rare concert together in New York City. The Green Day frontman teamed up with Jones for the 2013 album, a revamped collection of tunes inspired by The Everly Brothers' 1958 Americana release Songs Our Daddy Taught Us, and they decided to treat fans by revisiting the tracks for a one-off show at the Bowery Electric venue. No other joint shows have been announced.

Fact: Punk trio Green Day were joined onstage by Rancid leader Tim Armstrong and their original drummer John Kiffmeyer during a three-hour pre-Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony gig in Cleveland, Ohio on Thursday night (16Apr15). Billie Joe Armstrong and his bandmates will be inducted into the city's fabled museum on Saturday (18Apr15), alongside Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, Bill Withers, Lou Reed and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, among others.
