Rocker Gregg Allman has revealed pneumonia forced him to scrap a series of tour dates in August (16).
The music veteran put all of his gigs up until 16 October (16) on hold in early August, after revealing he was under doctors' care at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.
He did not disclose what ailed him at the time, but earlier this week (ends23Sep16), the 68-year-old revealed the illness hit him suddenly.
"Right in the middle of the thing I got pneumonia," he told Westword.com. "Yeah, that was a drag. I was almost to the end of a tour. I had to two more (shows) to go, and damn, it just set in. I had to postpone two of the gigs, but we'll go back and make them up, for sure."
Earlier this month (Sep16), Allman was given "a clean bill of health from his doctors" and "the OK to get back to performing live". He will hit the stage on Sunday (25Sep16) at the Laid Back Festival in Colorado.
Allman will also join Laid Back Festival headliners ZZ Top in Atlanta, Georgia on 29 October (16), before performing 10 intimate residency shows at New York's City Winery in November (16).
