Madonna’s custody battle with her ex-husband Guy Ritchie has escalated from the court room to social media, as the former couple traded pictures via Instagram to prove who had the better Christmas holidays.

Over the festive period which she spent with three of her kids, the 57 year old pop legend posted a number of throwback pictures of her brood, including Rocco who was spending Christmas on the other side of the Atlantic with Ritchie and his new wife.

Putting up a clip of her and her eldest son laughing together, Madge wrote “Merry X-mas to the Sun-shine of my Life!” Meanwhile, Ritchie’s new wife Jacqui posted a picture of their wedding day back in July, in which Rocco is standing next to them, writing “Happy Holidays with love from the Ritchies”.

David Beckham is embarking on a whole new career – acting! The former footballing star has landed a role in Guy Ritchie’s upcoming film, Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur. Beckham announced the news in a recent interview with a British newspaper and revealed he is prepared to face criticism if his acting skills are not up to scratch.

Taking a break from his role as Superman, Henry Cavill took a trip to the swinging 60s to star in Guy Ritchie's spy action-comedy The Man From U.N.C.L.E. It's a much more light-hearted role than 2013's Man of Steel, and offers a glimpse into how Cavill might have played James Bond (he was a finalist to play 007 before Daniel Craig landed the role).

In fact, some critics have said that U.N.C.L.E. is nothing but summer fluff. "As an actor, I don't go out looking for a message," he says. "But I believe anyone can take what they want from it. It's set in a time of potential nuclear apocalypse and asking how that would feel. The 1960s were, apparently, awesome. So if you're sitting around now being a misery-guts because you're having a bad day, well, what if it were the 1960s and the world could actually end?"

Filmmaker Guy Ritchie and his bride Jacqui Ainsley said their "I dos" in their Wiltshire Estate and with Hollywood star Brad Pitt and famous footballer David Beckham among their many guests.

Robert Downey Jr. has helped raise over £1 million for a UK children’s hospice by auctioning off a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be the Iron Man star’s date to his next movie premiere. The auction raises funds for Julia’s House, a Dorset based children’s hospice of which Guy Ritchie is a patron.

One lucky fan will not only get the chance to join Robert on the red carpet, but will also be flown with a friend to Los Angeles where the actor will then proceed to “awesome the crap out of you.”

Could ‘Robin Hood’ be the next iconic character to have his history explored with an edgy origins movie? Well it looks likely, as Deadline reports that studio Lionsgate has acquired the script for Joby Harold’s Robin Hood: Origins, which gives a different take on the famed character.

While little is known about the script, Deadline writes that Harold's story is said to be 'an edgier take on the fabled do-gooder who stole from the rich and gave to the poor.’ The film will be produced by Appian Way, alongside Harold and Tory Tunnell through their Safehouse Pictures banner.

The first trailer for Guy Ritchie's take on the iconic 1960s spy series The Man from U.N.C.L.E has rolled out online and the British filmmaker appears to have made a movie - or at least attempted to make a movie - that is stylish, humorous and action-packed.

The duo's only real lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist who is key to infiltrating the shadowy organization. They now face a race against time to save the world - which just sounds awesome, doesn't it?

Guy Ritchie, the British director behind Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and the Sherlock Holmes movies, is keen to cast Fifty Shades of Grey actor Jamie Dornan in his forthcoming King Arthur movies. Ritchie wants the Irish actor to take the lead the franchise, according to The Sun.

Ritchie is said to have been "blown away" when he met the 32-year-old actor - which is a bit weird. The filmmaker has been trying to cast Dornan as King Arthur though it's proving difficult given the actor's commitment to three Fifty Shades of Grey movies - the first of which is released on Valentines' Day 2015.

It has been revealed that Madonna is to direct another movie, despite the critical and commercial flop of her second directorial work, W.E. The pop star will mark her return to film with Adé: A Love Story, the upcoming adaptation of Rebecca Walker's novel of the same name, according to The Guardian.

The 'Holiday' singer will be teaming up with producer Bruce Cohen, who was one of the producers of the successful David O Russell film Silver Linings Playbook, and a screenwriter is being sought to adapt the novel. Adé will be the third movie Madonna has directed, her previous projects being the critically-trashed W.E., which explored the life of Wallis Simpson and a researcher delving into the truth of Simpson's romance with King Edward VIII, and 2008's Filth and Wisdom.

Guy Richie is facing a mammoth project, according to Deadline. The British director will be translating the legend of King Arthur onto the big screen; not once, not twice, but six times. The series will be based directly on the eight books of Thomas Mallory's 15th century classic Le Morte d'Arthur.

This project has been a long-time coming for both Rich and Warner Bros., who paid $2m to acquire the rights to David Dobkin’s Arthur & Lancelot script. Colin Farrell was linked with the role of Lancelot, while Gary Oldman was reportedly chased for Merlin. This project was dropped though.

This week's big global release is the DreamWorks animated prehistoric comedy-adventure The Croods, led by an all-star vocal cast including Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone and Ryan Reynolds. Look for a huge push for must-have spin-off merchandise for this one, as it's packed with cuddly creatures. And hope it does well at the box office, because it would make a great franchise too.

Doing the publicity rounds this week, Gerard Butler has been out promoting his new White House thriller Olympus Has Fallen. Flitting between New York and Los Angeles to appear on every chat show possible, it's no wonder that he was somewhat fed-up by the time he reached David Letterman's Manhattan studio. Of course, the paparazzi caught it on camera as he lost his patience with a fan trying to get multiple autographs. But he manages to recovers his usual charm.

A semi-naked skimpy Beckham ad will never fail to set pulses racing, but in the new H&M ad, directed by Guy Ritchie, this time around it's the footballer's turn to get his own heart racing. In the ad he's seen chasing a car with his three boys riding in the back, after having had his robe get stuck in the door of the car and get ripped away. Racing through his neighbour's back gardens and onto a road, he sees the car turn a corner. What a shame, Beckham has to stay in his H&M khaki pants. 

Ritchie uses his background in action movies to create a dynamic and fast paced 'short film' which has a clear narrative and makes best use of the beautifully sunny surroundings of LA, as well as all its beautiful people. 

"David is the perfect leading man," the director told Today. "For me, this felt like more than a campaign - it was like directing a short film."

It's a big day for fans of David Beckham. It's a huge day for fans of David Beckham's body. Hot on the heels of the confirmation that the British footballer will sign for French side Paris-Saint Germain, Beckham's latest ad for his bodywear range at H&M has emerged online. Directed by Guy Ritchie, the sleek clip sees Beckham running through Los Angeles in his briefs and, well, not much else.

Beckham launched a successful line of undergarments and loungewear in partnership with H&M a year ago and featured in a Super Bowl commercial that saw him in a tank top and boxers. In the new Guy Ritchie commercial, Beckham is seen waving off his kids to school in a dressing gown and slippers. But, what's this? Oh no! He gets his gown trapped in the door of the Land Rover (presumably driven by Victoria), which speeds off to the kids' nearby school. So, instead of phoning his wife and telling her about the funny thing that just happened with the dressing gown and asking her to un-trap it from the door, Beckham decides to sprint after the car, in his boxers!

Brad Pitt appears as both a hitman and Rastafarian for an upcoming feature with Interview magazine. The actor tells the October/November issue that he'd rather be behind the camera than acting and claims to be becoming increasingly picky about the movie roles he accepts

In conversation with director Guy Ritchie for the magazine, Pitt said of choosing his parts, "I want it to be worthy enough of a story to leave the family, you know? They're everything.The family is first . . . I also don't want to embarrass them." The actor, now 49, spoke of his desire to step behind the camera and it's not hard to envisage Pitt giving up the acting game to try his hand at directing. His roles are certainly becoming more mature, an Oscar-nominated turn in Moneyball, a critically acclaimed turn in 'The Tree of Life' and a recent part in the sharp political thriller 'Killing Them Softly' have established Pitt as one of the finest leading men of his generation, though there's always that underlying impression that if he could, Pitt would direct himself. Though his latest movie has been accused of having a Democratic agenda, the actor, known to be a supporter of President Obama, remained coy on his current political stance, "We're at a particularly ugly time when we're at such a divide in America, but that divide is not there because everyone is trying to figure out what's best for the people.It's there because one side is trying to win out over the other side," he said.

Though Pitt's apocalyptic 'World War Z' is perhaps his most high profile project currently in production, it's Steve McQueen's 'Twelve Years A Slave' that is by far the most exciting. Boasting a mouth-watering cast, also including Michael Fassbender and Benedict Cumberbatch, the film follows a New Yorker who is kidnapped and sold to slavery in the Deep South. The film is set for release in 2013.
