As much as we’ve been enjoying seeing Gwen Stefani as a judge on 'The Voice', we’ve also been hoping that the platinum blonde singer will soon be getting back to doing what she does best, making music. Well it seems our wish has finally come true, as Gwen has just dropped a brand new track entitled ‘Baby Don’t Lie’, taken from her forthcoming album.

The tropical sounding single made its way online last night (October 19th) ahead of the video premiere which will happen during tonight’s episode of  'The Voice'. The video has been directed by Sophie Muller, who has previously worked with Gwen and No Doubt.

‘Baby Don’t Lie’ is Gwen’s first solo effort since 2008’s ‘Early Winter', which was taken from The Sweet Escape album. The 45 year old is said to have nearly finished her new record and is thought to be aiming for a December release date.

The singer has reportedly been in the studio working with fellow ‘The Voice’ judge Pharrell Williams. While ‘Baby Don't Lie’ was co-written and produced by Benny Blanco, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and Noel Zancanella.

Last week on Twitter Stefani had teased fans with a look at the single's vibrant artwork,  which features Gwen photographed pop art style, with her trademark blonde hair coloured black at the bottom.

Of course Gwen first came to fame as the frontwoman for 90s band No Doubt. After taking a break to pursue a solo career, in 2012 she resumed her duties as the band's frontwoman for the group’s sixth studio album, Push Shove. The band are now said to be working on a follow up album which is also intended for release this year.
