Gwen Stefani wants to write a musical.

The 48-year-old singer has admitted she would love to expand her horizons and create a theatre production, or be involved in a ''writing thing'', because she feels more confident putting her pen to paper.

Speaking to America's Marie Claire magazine about her dream plans, the blonde-haired beauty said: ''I would love to do something like [write a musical], just be a part of a writing thing, because that confidence has come back now, and I know I have something to offer.''

The 'Hollaback Girl' hitmaker has admitted writing used to be ''such a stress'' for her, because she used to ''doubt'' everything she used to scribble down.

She said: ''It used to be such a stress; there was so much doubt in me.''

But the star has since changed her ways and has embraced that part of songwriting and writing in general.

She added: ''Now it's like, Well, just go and write a song.''

And Gwen has hinted ''spiritual exercise'' has helped her to feel more at ease.

She said: ''Spiritual exercise got me somewhere. Some people like to meditate, do yoga, or just take quiet time, but for me-instead of how you talk to yourself, you pray. You surrender and ask for guidance. It's not all about you.''
