British rockers Happy Mondays have postponed their upcoming tour of Australia just days before the shows were due to kick off.

The band was due to start a series of gigs in Brisbane, Australia on Friday (03May13), but the musicians have now pushed the tour back until June (13) due to "unforeseen circumstances".

A statement from the group reads, "Due to unforeseen circumstances Manchester's Happy Mondays have no choice but to announce that their May Australian tour will now be rescheduled to June, 2013. The Mondays are upset and apologise for not being able to make these original shows."

The tour, which will mark the band's first trek Down Under with its original line-up, will now kick off in Fremantle on 5 June (13).
