Han Solo was one sexy guy back in the day, hoo boy. The wild man of Star Wars, the outsider, the man who didn’t care, did he set our hearts a-throbbing at Contact towers. He was of course played by Harrison Ford, a man who on occasion looks like he was hewn from the ground itself, and – as time tends to dictate – Harrison’s aged somewhat since playing the bad ass role back in the late 70s and early 80s.

Yet with the news that Star Wars is returning for another three films in the near future, thanks to a deal between George Lucas and Disney, fans are suddenly questioning whether this means that all the original characters are coming back. Like Ford, the ravages of time have caught up with all of them, yet apparently they might still be keen to reprise the likes of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. A source who is apparently close to the actor told Entertainment Weekly that “Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he’s upbeat about it, all three of them are.” By which they mean Mark Hammill back as Luke and Carrie Fisher back as Leia.

If they did come back it suggests they’d be playing some sort of parenting role to what would hopefully be the new main characters in the films. In the UK Justin Lee Collins once tried to get all the Stars Wars gang back together; what at the time looked to be a low point in his career can be viewed in hindsight as glory days indeed, in light of his behaviour this year. The silly oaf.
