The network have had a major "cyber incident" over the weekend.
Over the weekend, a select group of reporters were sent an anonymous email by somebody claiming to be a hacker and who teased "the greatest leak of cyber space era (sic)". They pushed the reporters to spread the "leak" attached to the email, and promised an interview to whichever reporter would spread the word about the hacking furthest. They signed the email off with the blunt statement "HBO is falling."
Emilia Clarke stars as Daenerys Targaryen in 'Game of Thrones'
Though no episodes of 'Game of Thrones' were sent within the email, the hacker released scripts for what is said to be the fourth episode of the hit fantasy series, and claimed to pick up 1.5 terabytes of data. Upcoming episodes of 'Room 104' and 'Ballers' have allegedly also been placed online.

Proposing to construct an alternate history where slavery is still legal in the southern states, 'Confederate' will be made by 'GoT' showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff.
In the light of their ongoing massive success as directors of ‘Game of Thrones’, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss announced their newly approved HBO project ‘Confederate’ this week – and have caused sharp division on social media in doing so.
‘Confederate’ is to create an alternative universe of parallel history, in which the Civil War led to the secession of the southern states and in which therefore slavery is still legal.
The show “chronicles the events leading to the Third American Civil War. The series takes place in an alternate timeline, where the southern states have successfully seceded from the Union, giving rise to a nation in which slavery remains legal and has evolved into a modern institution,” according to the HBO press release on Wednesday (July 19th) according to Entertainment Weekly.

The series gave its strongest premiere performance to-date, hinting at an incredibly successful seventh season.
Bosses at HBO are likely to be smiling wide like Cheshire Cats this week, as it's being reported that 16.1 million viewers tuned in for the 'Game of Thrones' season 7 premiere across all of the network's differing distribution platforms. Giving the show its biggest number of viewers to-date, it's up a whopping 50% on last season's premiere, which took in what now looks like a minuscule number of 10.7 million viewers.
Lena Headey's Cersei Lannister currently sits on the Iron Throne
The number is not only hugely impressive because it beats out all 'Thrones' episodes that have come before it, but because the show premiered later than usual this time round. Usually taking a higher-performing slot in the spring, the season 7 premiere was held back until the middle of summer, in a position that's usually one of the weakest for performance.

The 2017 Emmy's Show What's Hot and What's Not
It was a successful day for Westworld and Saturday Night Live as both received 22 nominations each as they led the way at the 2017 Emmys. The popular NBC late-night sketch and comedy programme achieved more nods than it had ever previously done with the huge figure.
The two programmes could not be any more different in style or tone, but it will be the two programmes which lead the way upon the awards in September; Westworld has just finished its huge budget first series, whereas Saturday Night Live has now moved onto a whopping 231 nominations - breaking its own record for most nominations ever at the awards.

The critically-acclaimed fantasy series' return is right around the corner.
To-date, throughout six incredible seasons, hit fantasy series 'Game of Thrones' - based on George R R Martin's currently incomplete novel series 'A Song of Ice & Fire' - has entertained audiences with more twists, turns, surprises and tense action sequences than anyone could have ever predicted. Now, with a seventh season right around the corner, we've decided to take a look back at five of the most memorable moments the series has presented us with to-date, before the penultimate season hits screens next week!

The author promises movement is being made on the 'GoT' spin-offs.
Set to conclude with its eighth season and, with its seventh season right around the corner, fans of HBO fantasy series 'Game of Thrones' - based on the uncompleted novel series 'A Song of Ice & Fire' by George R R Martin - can rest assured that they'll likely still be visiting the Seven Kingdoms and beyond, even when 'GoT' has left the small screen.
George R R Martin promises 'Game of Thrones' spin-offs are moving forward
For some time, the team at HBO who have been working on 'GoT' have been coming up with some ideas for a number of potential spin-off shows, working closely with author Martin to allow authenticity. Earlier this year, it was revealed that four different ideas were in development, with a number of high-profile writers involved such as Jane Goldman, Max Borenstein, Carly Wray and Brian Helgeland. Martin then revealed a fifth idea was also being floated around, but didn't reveal a writer attached.

The lawsuit concerns a segment on Sunday's episode of 'Last Week Tonight'.
A lawsuit filed on Wednesday this week (June 21st) cites the most recent episode of ‘Last Week Tonight’ and claims that Oliver and his team “executed a meticulously planned attempt to assassinate the character of and reputation of Mr. Robert E. Murray and his companies,” according to a report by The Daily Beast.
Back on Sunday (June 18th), Oliver took aim at Murray, the CEO of Murray Energy Corporation, in a segment that suggested the coal executive doesn’t do enough to protect his employees in the workplace.
The show will be seen by everybody at the same time.
Based on the best-selling but incomplete novel series 'A Song of Ice and Fire' by author George R R Martin, HBO fantasy series 'Game of Thrones' has entertained audiences for six full seasons now, with a seventh right around the corner. As the most-watched show in the TV network's history, you'd think they'd want to hang on to it for as long as possible. When season 8 eventually comes round however, it'll be the last in the series and consist of just six episodes, as opposed to the usual 10 or the next season's seven.
Could the White Walkers take over in season 7?
This weekend it's been revealed that the network will be following suit when it comes to the critics with what they did last year. They won't be releasing any episodes, check discs or the likes to journalists ahead of the seventh season's premiere, in a bid to tackle the leaking of episodes which happened with season 5 and prior. As television's most expensive show to make, leaks are a huge deal. They take away from overall viewership and make a big impact.

Myrcella Baratheon's death was originally going to be a lot more graphic.
There's no denying the immense popularity of HBO fantasy series 'Game of Thrones'. With six seasons aired to-date and a seventh right around the corner, the show - based on the incomplete 'A Song of Ice and Fire' novel series by George R. R. Martin - continues to surprise its viewership with shocking twists and turns.
Myrcella was mourned by her brother and father in 'Game of Thrones'
One of the curveballs the show likes to continue chucking at those watching is the death of fan favourite characters. Nobody's safe in the Seven Kingdoms, Westeros and beyond, as Nell Tiger Free discovered during season 5 when her character Myrcella Baratheon was poisoned and died on a ship back to King's Landing.

There may be loads of shows in production, but only one is expected to survive.
There's no denying just how popular HBO fantasy series 'Game of Thrones' has become across the six seasons to-date, and with a seventh season on the horizon made up of just seven episodes, the appetite for new information regarding the franchise is higher than ever before.
Could the White Walkers take over the Seven Kingdoms?
Whilst we now know that next year's eighth season will be the last for this particular series, there have been reports of a number of spinoffs being in production at HBO. This doesn't mean we'll be getting more than one when the time comes, however.
