Heidi Klum's Halloween parties are famous. The stars don their best outfits and gather for a night of high-class horror at the annual New York shindig. But, alas, Hurricane Sandy, after having its say on so many things, has ruled that Klum's big night be postponed.

"Hope you & your loved ones are safe after the storm," tweeted Klum, who was all ready to dress up as Cleopatra this Halloween. "Canceling my Halloween party ... postponing to a haunted Christmas." It was reported that Klum had four fittings for her impressive Egyptian outfit. It's not just the stars that miss out on their Halloween fun, regular Joes like you and us at Contact Music were sad to hear that the annual New York Village Halloween Parade has been cancelled for the first time in its four-decade history. "Unfortunately, we just cannot spare the manpower from the NYPD and other city agencies to host the annual Greenwich Village Halloween Parade, so we are postponing it to a later date sometime next week," MTV reported New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg saying. "We'll work tomorrow and figure out what date makes sense given the resources the city has."

Given the serious nature of Sandy, and the unprecedented damage and destruction to America's East side, precaution is the watch word as the city of New York finally sees the back end of the terrible storm.
