Not every holiday you go on leaves you pining to go home, but a recent excursion to Hawaii that went awry by Heidi Klum and her family probably had them crying out for a return to normality. Heidi, her boyfriend Martin Kristen and her brood of children arrived at LAX safely in the early hours of the morning today (April 2) and managed to look relatively upbeat despite the potential tragedy that nearly fell their way on Sunday (March 31).

Klum, Kristen and co. were enjoying a break in Hawaii last week when things took a turn for the worse on Sunday after Heidi's son, Henry, was almost drowned after being caught in a riptide. Whilst at LAX the family looked calm and if anything were more anxious about leaving the airport than they were hung up about the recent ordeal, as the family whizzed past fellow commuters in the terminal on an airport buggy before climbing aboard a waiting airport shuttle outside.

Heidi has since spoken to US Weekly about her son's brush with death in the Pacific, as she recounted the incident and her daring rescue in detail. We got pulled into the ocean by a big wave. Of course, as a mother, I was very scared for my child and everyone else in the water.' She told the magazine, adding, 'Henry is a strong swimmer and was able to swim back to land. We were able to get everyone out safely.'
