Helen Hunt, the ACADEMY AWARD winning actress, has ruled out the possibility of her 6-year-old daughter 'Makena Lei' becoming a child actress, calling the movie industry "a very adult place to be", reports the New York Magazine. Hunt was a child star herself, appearing in the likes of 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show' and 'The Bionic Woman', however, she says she does not want her daughter to take the same route into the entertainment world.
After being quizzed on Makena Lei's acting ambitions, the OSCAR winning actress replied "Oh God, no! I can't look at it that way. She's 6, and I was older than that, at least". She went on to say that her daughter would begin an acting career 'over her dead body' and claimed that she did not begin acting until she was 10-years-old despite some user-moderated websites claiming she was 8. When pushed on whether she would allow her daughter to act if she was serious, Hunt said, "There are ways to do it where you're not on a movie set with 60 adults, which I loved at the time, but as a parent, I don't know that I'd be dying to put her in that spot".
The actress is currently starring in the new movie 'Every Day' which follows the story of a crisis stricken New York couple and also stars 'Defiance' actor LIVE SCHREIBER and the British comedian Eddie Izzard.
