Oscar winner Helen Mirren proves anyone can twerk at Harvard's 2014 Hasty Pudding Woman Of The Year awards.
Dame Helen Mirren did her best Miley Cyrus impression as she twerked her way through the Harvard Hasty Pudding Woman Of The Year award ceremony in Massachusetts.
Helen Mirren waves at her Harvard crowd
The Queen actress proved to be a brilliant sport as the Harvard University Hasty Pudding Theatricals presented her with their annual pudding pot prize after a traditional drag parade from the troupe which happens to be the oldest undergraduate drama ensemble in America. She took part in the customary roast which saw her shake her rear on stage in what we have come to know as 'twerking'.
"I've tried in my bedroom in private, in front of the mirror, very unsuccessfully, so absolutely humiliating to have to do it in public in front of a whole load of people," the Oscar winning star told her thrilled crowd. "But I obviously couldn't get out of it, it was inevitable end to the whole proceedings."

Even if she was embarrassed, it definitely didn't stop her having a good time; she even revealed how receiving her DBE from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace "didn't even come close" to her Harvard experience. Last year, the Woman of the Year honour went to 'La môme' star Marion Cotillard, with Man of the Year being presented to Kiefer Sutherland from crime thriller series '24'.
With her role as Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen, it's not hard to see why she has not only become a national treasure in the UK, but also an extremely well-respected star over the pond as well. And, whilst we're talking theatre groups, who can forget that time when she reprised her royal role on stage? People's admiration for her certainly skyrocketed when she stormed out of London's Gielgud theatre dressed in full regal attire to yell at a street drummer troupe to keep the noise down.

Next up, 'How I Met Your Mother' actor Neil Patrick Harris will be the recipient of the Man of the Year award this year. He has had multiple theatre roles over his career and is even set to don the wigs and lippie to portray the titular transgender singer in 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch' on Broadway later this year.
