Michelle Keegan Named Sexiest Soap Star Again: Do You Agree?

Michelle Keegan snapped up her seventh Sexiest Female soap star award at the Inside Soap Awards 2012 but still insists she’s anything but sexy.

The actress won the award after playing the outspoken Rovers Return barmaid Tina McIntyre on Coronation Street only months after winning the same award at the 2012 British Soap Awards for the fourth time. She also won the award for Best Dressed soap star which makes her the holder of 2 out of 3 of Corrie’s wins this year. Despite being TVs favourite eye candy, she previously told The Sun’s TV Biz, ‘I’m genuinely not sexy’ and insisted that people voted for Tina rather than herself because she wears little make-up and doesn’t wear tight clothes which Michelle thinks girls can relate to. ‘I think they find that she’s so confident, a bit sexy’, she said. ‘I haven’t changed since day one. I still go out in my pyjamas to Tesco, hair up, no make-up. I feel comfortable like that. If I were to go out in make-up and heels all the time, I’d just feel so uncomfortable. It’s just not me.’

This year she was up against sexy nominees Jacqueline Jossa who plays Lauren Branning in EastEnders, Natalie Anderson AKA Alicia Metcalfe from Emmerdale and Rachel Shenton who plays the wronged Mitzeee in Hollyoaks. Best Soap went to EastEnders who scooped up seven separate awards including Best Actress (Gillian Wright), Best Newcomer (Hetti Bywater) and Best Bitch (Charlie Brooks).
